I know how it feels because I've been there
Anyone can give you advice on handling your money better, and anyone can throw jargon and unintelligible words at you, but I'm on a mission to make finances accessible to everyone, coming from someone who has been where you are.
I've been at financial rock bottom. I've been that woman spending her pay check in her head before it's even arrived. And I've been that woman borrowing and spending on credit to try to fill a hole that existed in my life.
But I've also been the woman who realised her own emotional financial triggers and found a way to not only overcome them, but to flourish financially.
Moving from a feeling of financial lack to financial abundance feels overwhelmingly impossible right now, I know that. But I'm here to show you that you can do it, and to give you the tools and support you need to achieve it, sooner than you think!
I am a self-confessed emotional spender and have transformed my relationship with money.
From a young age, my relationship with money was always fraught with difficulties. After years of being badly bullied and suffering with eating disorders in my teens, my natural relationship with money was always about being noticed and trying to keep up with the Jones'. This resulted in years of overspending, under-saving, living in my overdraft and being driven by my emotions.
In later years, my son Thomas at five weeks old, was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis and I was told that I might lose him. I went into a spiral of severe anxiety and post natal depression. I became incredibly anxious, started overspending and decided enough was enough.
I qualified as a financial coach, and turned my relationship around with money. Having worked in banks since the age of 18, I became very disillusioned with the focus on complicated financial products and I'm hugely passionate about helping women to be financially resilient.
